I want music making to be a joyous experience for my students. I tailor lessons to students’ personal interests and goals—whether that's improvisation, ear training, songwriting, music theory or technique. I teach both acoustic and electric guitar to students young and old; learning music is a unique process for everyone. I want lessons to be a safe space for marginalized people of all identities and backgrounds. I can teach both in person and over zoom.

My lessons can take many forms, including jazz improvisation and theory, blues fingerpicking, bluegrass lead and rhythm playing, and learning pop punk songs by ear. My educational experience has allowed me to study the historical roots of the music I play, and my approach to education weaves that context into the music I teach.

During and prior to my time at Middlebury College, from where I graduated with a B.A. in Music, I’ve had the privilege of being able to study with some great musical minds:

  • Jared Quinn of Easthampton, MA

  • Paul Asbell of Burlington,VT (jazz guitar)

  • Erik Alan of Amherst, MA (folk and blues guitar)

  • Pete Sutherland of Burlington, VT (old time fiddle)

  • Jose Manuel Montoya at the Casa Patas School in Madrid, Spain (flamenco guitar)
